Installation by mixed-media artist and photographer probes honesty in coupledom
In y2o, Dominique Skoltz depicts two lovers submerged as they negotiate the sometimes-treacherous waters of love and relationships.
This short documentary by Article, and produced for CBC Arts by Stephanie Matteis, shows the ephemeral nature of love. The artist uses each scene of the installation to show the struggle to remain true to another without being held back.
Skoltz's artwork has an international following. She has taken part in more than 50 festivals, most recently including an exhibition at the Venice Biennale.
Her current project is at Arsenal Montreal until May 8, 2016. She has a live performace called duality_ face à face at Arsenal, 2020 rue William on Tuesday, April 5, 2016.
