Watch Johannes Moser play excerpts from Bach's Cello Suite No. 1

On his beautiful 1694 Andrea Guarneri cello, to boot.

German-Canadian cellist Johannes Moser was in North America recently, playing Dvorák's Cello Concerto with the Toronto Symphony and, the following week, doing a residency at McGill University's Schulich School of Music. It was a day off during the latter when we invited him to our Montreal studio for a video shoot.

The recent Juno nominee arrived carrying his 1694 Andrea Guarneri cello and announced he would play excerpts from J.S. Bach's Cello Suite No. 1, BWV 1007. Watch his performance of the Prelude, Courante and Sarabande below.
