B.C. weather forecast: more heavy rain, snow
Second wave of the Pineapple Express will hit Thursday night
Environment Canada is warning there is still a lot more rain and snow in the forecast for B.C. in the coming days.
The first wave of a subtropical warm front hit the province overnight Wednesday, dumping rain on the South Coast and snow in parts of the Interior.
As the rain continued on Thursday morning, pooling water was reported around the on-ramps for the Ironworkers Memorial Second Narrows Crossing in North Vancouver, along with snow on many mountain passes on highways throughout the province.
After a break in the weather this afternoon, another round of heavy rain and snow is forecast to arrive on Thursday night.
On the South Coast another 50 to 80 millimetres of rain is forecast to fall by Friday, with up to 120 millimetres of rain for Howe Sound and the North Shore Mountains.
People are advised to watch out for flash flooding, water pooling on roads and to be cautious around rivers and creeks.
In the Interior, five to 25 centimetres of snow is forecast to fall in some areas by Friday, with high winds in Pine Pass and near Terrace. Drivers are advised to take caution on the roads.
