The Vancity credit union is encouraging its members with dormant accounts to claim them before the end of the month, or risk having the cash turned over to B.C.'s Unclaimed Property Society.
Meanwhile the Bank of Canada is holding nearly $500 million dollars in unclaimed bank balances left behind in dormant bank accounts across Canada.
