Travellers warned of hazardous conditions due to fog over southwest B.C.
Fog advisory in effect through Thursday noon for Metro Vancouver, parts of Vancouver Island, Sunshine Coast
Environment Canada is warning travellers in southwest B.C. about dense fog that couldĀ createĀ near-zero visibility in some areas through to Thursday afternoon.
A fog advisory is in effect for Vancouver, Burnaby, New Westminster and other parts of Metro Vancouver.
The Southern Gulf Islands, east Vancouver Island, inland Vancouver Island andĀ Sunshine Coast were also experiencing or could get near-zero visibility, Environment Canada said.
The weather agency said some of the fog is expected to lift by lateĀ morning but will redevelop this evening, before lifting completely around noon Thursday.
Environment Canada said visibility may be significantly and suddenly reduced to near zero during foggy conditions, and that travel could be hazardous.

Drivers are advised to turn on their lights and maintain a safe following distance.
A fog advisory also covered much of Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley on Tuesday morning before it was lifted later in the day.
