One man is critically injured after being shot in a targeted shooting Langley, B.C., shortly after midnight.

The man was found in an underground parking lot beneath a condo building in the 5600-block of 201A Street, according to RCMP. A statement said he had been shot multiple times and was taken to hospital.

Police said officers got "very little information" from the victim before he was taken into surgery, but said he is known to police and the shooting is believed to be targeted.

RCMP said the man is 27 years old and from Langley.

"It's too early at this point to say if it's connected to the Lower Mainland gang conflict, but the investigators are alive to that possibility," Cpl. Holly Largy told CBC News.

Largy said police believe there wasn't anybody else in the area when the shooting happened. RCMP officers remained on scene outside the condo on Monday morning. The parkade was cordoned off with yellow police tape, as was a neighbouring alley.

The RCMP's serious crime unit in Langley has taken over the investigation. Anyone with information is asked to call 604-532-3200 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 if they want to remain anonymous.
