Racers cruised pavement on handmade carts for charity
Soapbox derby drivers young and old dashed down a makeshift speedway in Vancouver's Downtown Eastside Friday.
Teams of four hit the pavement to raise money for Naskarz, a program that promotes social inclusion for youth in the disadvantaged community. Each team had a goal of raising $2,000.
The metal carts provided to the teams were built with the help of the youth in the Naskarz program itself.
