Police identify woman killed in Lighthouse Park
West Vancouver police have identified the woman found dead in her tent in Lighthouse Park earlier this week as Tammi-Lynn Louise Cordone, 43, from Thunder Bay, Ont.
Cordone's body was found by a hiker early Tuesday morning in dense bush in the forested park just off Marine Drive in West Vancouver.
Cordone's father, Leonard Cordone, told CBC News he's only had sporadic contact with his daughter since she moved to the West Coast several years ago, but knew she also lived in Calgary previously.
He said his daughter loved to camp and loved the outdoors, but did not say why she might have been living in the park. The family also said Tammi-Lynn had two children, aged 23 and 16, as well as two young grandchildren.
Police have confirmed that the death was a homicide but have not released the cause of death and have yet to determine whether the killing was targeted or random. They said it appeared that Cordone was living in the park when she was attacked.
Meanwhile, investigators with the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team looking into the separate death of a woman in Pacific Spirit Park near UBC last month said Thursday they have found no links between the two cases.
