Vancouver police say they get a lot of noise complaints from riled residents at this time of year and are reminding riders to be safe and considerate of others while out enjoying the weather.
Police have more ticketing options
Police also want to point out that new rules mean officers can now use their ears instead of a decibel meter to decide whether the roar of a motorcycle's engine is acceptable or not.
A recent B.C. Supreme court decision said officers can use "subjective observation" to measure noise levels.
The fine for running your motor too loud is $109 under the Motor Vehicle Act.
