Yaks for sale on Craigslist
For a mere $12K this herd of Tibetan yaks can be yours!
This might be a new one — even for Craigslist.
A Duncan-area farmer has turned to the online classified site to sell his herd of yaks.
The post, entitled, "Yaks for sale - healthy, tame, young herd of 6" is accompanied by a number of cute pictures of the black shaggy animals and a suggested price of $12,000.
According to the Craigslist ad, the yak seller is a long-time farmer named Tim who "has spent his life raising and training animals with a focus on yaks for the last decade or so."
"As Tim is getting a bit older, he is starting to think about moving closer to family but won't do so until his yaks are settled in a nice new home."
The yak herd — said to be Tibetan in origin and "very tame and friendly" — includes a four-year-old bull, three 18-month-old females and two calves of undetermined sex, roughly four months old.
No word if the yaks talk back.
