Homicide detectives investigate 2 suspicious deaths in northeast Calgary

Police are investigating two suspicious deaths that happened in northeast Calgary on Monday, that aren't believed to be connected.

UPDATE (Added on April 29, 2020): The Calgary Police Service issued an update after the autopsy was done on the body found in the 3500 block of 32 Avenue N.E. on Monday and said his death was deemed not to be suspicious in nature. Given the matter was not being considered criminal, police said no further information would be released.


Police are investigating two suspicious deaths that happened in northeast Calgary on Monday, that aren't believed to be connected.

At 9:15 a.m. Monday, officers were called to the 3500 block of 32nd Avenue N.E. for reports of a man in medical distress, police said in a release.The man was declared dead by EMS crews before police arrived.

Homicide detectives are now handling the investigation.

An autopsy has been set for Wednesday.

At 9 p.m. Monday, police were called to the 600 block of Marian Crescent N.E. for reports of a woman in medical distress. Police and EMS found a woman dead, and an injured man, who was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Police said that investigation is in its early stages, but it's not believed to be connected to the suspicious death on 32nd Avenue earlier the same day.
