A plan to construct a skateboard park in Edgemont has been put on hold for the next three to nine months.
Representatives from the community and city met with residents opposed to the skateboard park on Tuesday night and decided to reexamine the plan.
Some residents of the northwest Calgary community complained about the proposed location in John Laurie Park, raising objections based on noise and safety.
Edgemont Community Association spokesperson Elspeth Kirk says alternate sites will be looked for, but she predicts many of the same objections will surface no matter what site is selected.
