Professional skateboarder Tony Hawk was in Calgary Saturday for a live demonstration to promote his new partnership with Sport Chek and Quiksilver.

Hawk, who was named the second most influential skateboarder of all time by Transworld Skateboarding magazine, gave the demonstration at Deerfoot Mall.

The 45-minute half pipe vertical demonstration was free and drew hundreds to the Sport Chek parking lot.

But Hawk wasn't the only skateboarder present.

He also brought a crew of young talent with him to show their skills to the crowd — and just maybe, inspire the next generation of young skateboarders.
