BodyBreak duo grand marshals for KW Oktoberfest parade

The Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day Parade will be led by Canadian fitness icons, BodyBreak's Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod BodyBreak.

Oktoberfest revellers don't need any prodding to have fun, but this year they may also be reminded to keep fit.

That's because the grand marshals for this year's Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest Thanksgiving Day parade are BodyBreak duo, Hal Johnson and Joanne McLeod.

The fitness icons will be waving to festival-goers along the parade route from King Street North at Erb Street in Waterloo to King Street East at Madison Avenue in Kitchener.

"We're quite honoured and flattered to be asked to do it, and our daughter will see us in the parade as well. So it will be quite fun for our whole family," Johnson said.

"We're looking forward to the opportunity to come back and to be there for the day and hopefully have an opportunity to meet a lot of the people."

The 45th annual Oktoberfest officially begins on Friday with a keg-tapping ceremony.
