48-year-old victim was a London resident
A man has died in hospital after being found badly injured outside a southwest London apartment building last week, prompting police to launch a homicide investigation.
In a news release issued Friday afternoon, police identified the victim as Darko Lukic, 48, of London, and urged witnesses to come forward.
According to police, paramedics took the man to hospital early Saturday morning after he was found with life-threatening injuries from an apparent beating outside of a building on Baseline Road West near Wharncliffe Road South.
Police were told about the incident around 4:30 p.m. that afternoon, they said.
On Friday, police said the victim died in a homicide.
"Investigators continue to appeal to members of the public who were in the 100-block of Baseline Road West between 5 – 8:30 a.m., on Saturday," a news release from police reads, asking for dash-cam footage, video surveillance or other information that could help their investigation.
Police asked the public to contact them at their non-emergency line or through Crime Stoppers.
