A 25-year-old man has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of an inmate at Stony Mountain Institution over the weekend.
Cordell Charles was charged on Sunday in the death of Duane Edward Taylor, 53, who was found unresponsive in his cell on Saturday and could not be revived.
Charles was scheduled to make his first court appearance on Tuesday, Stonewall RCMP stated in a news release.
Taylor had been serving a sentence for first-degree murder since 1982.
