1st days of December draw angelic volunteers for 21st annual Misericordia Health Centre fundraiser
Angels descended into West Broadway Thursday to catch the attention — and generosity — of Winnipeg drivers.
Volunteers with the "Angel Squad" set up outside the Misericordia Health Centre on Sherbrook Street early in the morning asking drivers to pull over, enjoy some free coffee and donate to a good cause before the holidays.
People dressed in angel wings and halos take part in the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation fundraiser on the first two days of December every year.
The annual donation drive, now in its 21st year, aims to raise money for health-care programming, equipment and infrastructure enhancements.
While the main focus is flagging down rush-hour drivers, donations can also be made online.
