The city said a private water line was damaged. Workers at the city's water treatment facility are now manually controlling a water and feeder main near Marion Street and Doucet Street.
Any time there is a major change in the rate or direction of water flow in the mains, sediment can loosen and enter the water supply, a spokesperson with the city said.
Discoloured water doesn't pose any known health risks, but the city suggests to not use it for any purpose that requires clean water.
