A woman, 21, and man, 23, were killed when they were ejected from a vehicle as it crashed and rolled on a highway in northern Manitoba on Sunday afternoon, say RCMP.

The 25-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle and an 18-year-old man who was a front seat passenger were sent to hospital with minor injuries and later released.

Police say the vehicle was on Highway 60, about 30 kilometres east of Highway 10, and headed toward The Pas around 4:45 p.m., when it went onto the shoulder. The driver overcorrected and lost control, RCMP said.

All four people were from Winnipeg. The two who died were riding in the back seat and pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The RCMP continue to investigate.
