Ammonia leak at Granite Curling Club closes streets near Osborne Bridge

Several streets north of the Osborne Street Bridge were closed Saturday night due to an ammonia leak at the Granite Curling Club.

Several streets north of the Osborne Street Bridge were closed Saturday night due to an ammonia leak at the Granite Curling Club.

Emergency crews were called to the scene just after 9:30 p.m. after reports of a strong chemical smell in the area.

A hazardous materials unit investigated while police taped off streets and sidewalks surrounding the building.

No one was injured and the area was cleared around midnight, police said.
