Robert-Falcon Ouellette says he is looking for a party that can get him elected as he approaches his second run for political office.

The 37-year-old is getting offers from different parties at various levels of government, including the Progressive Conservative Party of Manitoba and the federal NDP. He also has a meeting with Justin Trudeau of the Liberal Party of Canada on Friday.

Getting elected is a priority for Ouellette, and he says this will factor into his decision on a party.

"It's great to always come in third or second place but eventually I think if you want to be affecting public policy in a more profound way I think you actually have to be elected somehow," he said.

When it comes to party policy, Ouellette is flexible.

"There are trade offs. Everyone knows this in political parties," he said.

"Sometimes they might put in a policy you don't agree with but they might have the other 99% of the policies [that] might be something that you can defend and talk about and believe in."

Ouellette says he still hopes to be Winnipeg's mayor one day,
