The city is once again closing some downtown Winnipeg streets and sidewalks to make way for another whiteout street party Tuesday night, as the Jets take on the Colorado Avalanche for game two of their first round in the NHL playoffs.

The Jets, up 1-0 against the Colorado Avalanche after their 7-6 win Sunday night, will face the team again Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. at Winnipeg's Canada Life Centre. Tickets to the second iteration of the outdoor licensed party are sold out.

The city is closing southbound Donald Street between Portage Avenue and St. Mary Avenue starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday until about 3 a.m. the next morning.

Graham Avenue in both directions between Hargrave Street and Smith Street will also be blocked off starting at 9 a.m. It will reopen at about 1 a.m. Wednesday, the city said in a news release Monday.

The sidewalk on Donald between Portage and St. Mary and the sidewalk on the north side of Graham Avenue between Hargrave and Smith will both be closed at noon Tuesday until sometime overnight Wednesday, the city says.

Transit routes

Winnipeg Transit will once again reroute some buses ahead of Tuesday's festivities.

Buses that normally run on Graham between Kennedy and Smith streets will be rerouted starting at 9 a.m. Tuesday, and will return to regular service by Wednesday.

Passengers can catch any bus affected by this reroute on Graham at Vaughan Street or Fort Street, and on Donald Street at Ellice Avenue or York Avenue.

The Winnipeg Transit Plus loading zone on southbound Donald at Graham will be relocated to eastbound Portage Avenue, next to the Radisson Hotel.

The Millennium Library Winnipeg Transit Plus loading zone will be moved to the eastbound front driveway of the Winnipeg Police Service headquarters, and the City Place Winnipeg Transit Plus loading zone will be relocated to northbound Hargrave on the north side of St. Mary.

The Millennium Library closes at 6 p.m., and its Donald Street parkade entrance will be closed starting at 9 a.m., reopening at about 3 a.m. Wednesday.
