The Point Lepreau nuclear generating station is back operating at full power.

The nuclear plant was taken offline on Sept. 24 to enable repairs to one of its safety systems. It returned to full service on Oct. 1, putting 660 megawatts into the New Brunswick grid.

Due to the shutdown, the nuclear plant operated at 76 per cent of capacity in September.

It produced about 50 per cent of NB Power's total net generation during the month.
