Crow knocks out power in Conception Bay South

Power was briefly disrupted in the Conception Bay South area because of an unlikely reason: a crow. 

Several areas of the town, including Topsail and Manuels, lost power around 6:30 a.m. Some consumers in neighbouring Paradise reported power loss. 

Newfoundland Power said there was an avian explanation to the problem. 

"Outages in the CBS area were caused by a crow contacting substation equipment. Power will be restored shortly," the company tweeted, while asking for patience as crews conducted repairs.
