Woman charged with fraud for allegedly accessing senior's financial accounts

Police in Corner Brook have charged a woman with fraud over $5,000.

The 32-year-old woman from Hughes Brook was charged on Friday.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary said they received a complaint on April 10, and have been investigating the matter since then.

Police said the charge stems from financial transactions over a two-year period that involved improperly accessing the accounts of a senior in her care.

The woman was released from custody. She's scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 4.
