McIntyre Creek development wanted on the agenda

The Friends of McIntyre Creek Society wants development near the area in the city of Whitehorse to be put on the territorial election agenda.

The Friends of McIntyre Creek Society wants development in the city of Whitehorse to be put on the territorial election agenda.

The group has been working for years to preserve and protect the corridor that runs from Fish Lake to the Yukon River. They  want the area set aside as an inner-city wilderness park.

Land development near the Porter Creek subdivision and a connector from the Alaska Highway to the new Whistlebend subdivision could adversely affect the area, the group worries.

Those two projects would be the responsibility of the city, but society president Dorothy Bradley wants it discussed in territorial election campaign.
