"Jay's wit, charm, and unparalleled love of music will never be forgotten."
The band played its scheduled show in Calgary on Wednesday night
It said all proceeds from the next few shows will go to Smith's two children.
Friends of Smith are planning the Jay Smith Memorial Benefit Concert — tentatively set for Apr. 7.
All funds raised will be donated to Smith's family, including his two young children, according to the Facebook event page.
