Woman, 22, dies after ATV-car crash in Hants County

A 22-year-old woman from Milford, N.S., is dead following a crash between a Can-Am side-by-side and a Honda Accord over the weekend in Hants County.

In a news release, East Hants District RCMP said first responders were called to Highway 214 in Belnan, N.S., shortly after at 8 p.m on Saturday. Police said both vehicles were travelling on the road at the time of the collision.

Police said the woman was a passenger in the all-terrain vehicle and she died in hospital as a result of her injuries.

The driver of the side-by-side, a 27-year-old man from Nine Mile River, N.S., suffered minor injuries, police said.

Following a roadside breath sample, police suspended the man's license and issued him a ticket for operating an off-road vehicle on the highway.

Two adults who were in the Honda Accord suffered minor injuries, RCMP said. 

A collision reconstructionist is helping with the investigation.
