Residents in Carleton Place, Rockland, west Quebec complain of spreading
It seems concerns about the spread of wild parsnip goes far beyond areas of south Ottawa, as residents in other areas of the city say the toxic weed — a plant that can burn skin and even cause blindness — plagues the region.

Earlier this month, a woman in Renfrew also suffered bad burns, which renewed fears about dangers around the toxic weed.

This has prompted Ottawa health officials to warn the public about the weed. It also supplied the public with some safety tips.
