Gas price drops 2.4 cents on P.E.I.
Islanders will be paying about 2.4 cents less at the gas pumps this week, but the price of furnace and stove oil has increased one cent.
Furnace and stove oil up 1 cent, diesel also up nearly 1 cent
Gas prices on Prince Edward Island are going down.
The Island Regulatory and Appeals Commission approved a decrease of 2.4 cents per litre, effective Sunday morning.
The average price for regular unleaded self-serve now stands between 116.2 and 117.3 cents per litre, while full-service is between 118.4 and 121.9 cents per litre.
But furnace and stove oil prices have increased by one cent to about 97.3 cents per litre, plus tax.
Diesel is also going up by nearly one cent.
The commission said it has seen a general drop in gas prices over the last two weeks, but "seasonal production and supply and demand dynamics have combined to exert an upward pressure on distillate (furnace oil and diesel) product pricing."
Propane prices have seen no change.
The next scheduled price adjustment will be on Dec. 1.
