The official Opposition has been repeatedly calling for an inquiry after the auditor general's critical review of the immigrant partner section of the provincial nominee program, released earlier this month.

Last week, Innovation Minister Allan Campbell said he would discuss the idea with the premier, and on Wednesday Ghiz said he's not the least bit interested in a more thorough investigation of the program.

"A public inquiry would cost millions of dollars. I'm not going to spend millions of dollars on this," he told CBC News.

"Our concentration is going to be on health care and education and seniors."

Ghiz said he's quite satisfied with the job the auditor general did, and that he is committed to implementing every recommendation from the report.
