Regina's Callie Curling Club was celebrating it's 100th birthday today — and there was cake and memories to spare.
The city was only 12 years old in 1915 when the Caledonian Curling Club — its formal name — was formed.
The Callie has been home to some of Saskatchewan's best curlers, including the Sandra Schmirler rink that won Olympic gold in 1998.
After the club was formed on Oct. 14, 1915, members threw their first rocks at a rink on Dewdney Street.
It's gone through several changes in venue since then and is now located north of the airport on Sandra Schmirler Way.
