The Regina Cricket Association kicked off its 2015 season with a friendly match at Douglas Park Friday.

The sport has been played in the province for decades, and the number of cricketers has been increasing as the city becomes more diverse.

"The reason is a lot of immigrants move from different parts of the world and they love to have this game," Afzaal Siddiqui, from the Regina Cricket Association, said.

Cricket is said to be the world's second most popular sport, trailing only soccer in the number of participants.
