Ashley Dawn Richards, 18, who's from Lakeside, N.B., died after being hit on Highway 39 at around 5:30 p.m.
She was working on the highway about eight kilometres north of Midale when a sports utility vehicle entered the construction zone and struck her.
She was rushed to hospital in Weyburn but was pronounced dead on arrival.
An autopsy is scheduled for later this week in Regina.
The driver of the SUV, a 44-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
He was released on Saturday.
Police said charges are pending.
