Blue crush: Conservatives dominate all Saskatchewan races, claiming Goodale's seat and 3 other new spots

It's all blue now.

The federal electoral map for Saskatchewan took a decisive swing toward the Conservative side in Monday's federal election.

The Conservative Party entered the election with 10 of 14 Saskatchewan seats in Parliament. They left with all 14, thanks to newly-captured seats in four ridings, including the seat long held by the province's lone Liberal MP, Ralph Goodale.

The last race called for the party was in Saskatoon West, where incumbent Sheri Benson of the NDP lost to Conservative candidate Brad Redekopp.

Goodbye, Goodale

Ralph Goodale, Saskatchewan's long-serving Liberal MP, was defeated by Conservative candidate Michael Kram in the Regina-Wascana riding, CBC News has declared. 

Goodale held the seat (formerly known as Wascana) since 1993. In recent years he served as the public face of the Liberals in the province at funding announcements for Saskatchewan projects. 

Tonight's defeat marks the end of a 26-year reign for Goodale. 

Meanwhile, the highly-competitive Desenthé-Missinippi-Churchill River riding was taken from NDP encumbent Georgina Jolibois by Conservative opponent Gary Vidal.

Former Erin Weir seat lost to Conservatives

The Conservative Party claimed the Saskatchewan seat once held by former NDP MP Erin Weir as Conservative candidate Warren Steinley defeated his opponents in the Regina-Lewvan riding.

Weir was part of the NDP caucus until 2018, when NDP leader Jagmeet Singh removed him after Weir was accused of harassment. Weir held the seat as an independent after that.

The Conservatives' victory in Regina-Lewvan was the party's first newly-acquired riding of the night in the province.

Early results favour Conservatives

Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer handily won his home riding of Regina-Qu'Apelle. 

Scheer has held his seat for the last 15 years and always enjoyed healthy leads over his closest opponents. 

Incumbent Conservative Robert Kitchen was declared winner of the Souris-Moose Mountain riding with only 13 per cent of poll results in. Conservative incumbent Cathay Wagantall won the Yorkton-Melville riding. Fellow Conservative candidates Kelly Block (Carlton Trail-Eagle Creek), Tom Lukiwski (Moose Jaw-Lake Centre-Lanigan), Jeremy Patzer (Cypress Hills-Grasslands) and Rosemarie Falk (Battlefords-Lloydminster) were also declared winners early in the night.
