Saskatoon residents are being warned about a phone scam in which the caller claims to be from SaskPower.

In three separate incidents, people have reported receiving a call from someone claiming they owe money on their power bill.

The scammers demand payment immediately in order to keep the power running, and threaten to remove the power box from the victim's home.

No money changed hands in the three reported incidents, but police are reminding the public to be cautious of similar telephone calls, to verify the request, and to avoid sending requested funds by money transfer.
