Ministry shuts down 'Lady Isabelle' nursing home in Trout Creek

The Lady Isabelle Nursing Home in Trout Creek, Ont., has been shut down by the province's Ministry of Health and Long Term Care.

According to a ministry report, several inspectors visited the home, south of North Bay, between May 8-12 and again between May 15-18, citing numerous infractions involving infection control, skin and wound care, and proper staffing.

A revocation order and interim management order were served to the facility on July 11, a spokesperson for the ministry said.

The for-profit facility can accommodate approximately 66 patients, the report said, and is staffed by a Toronto-based group, Responsive Health Management Inc.
