Young superhero Mason Macri was remembered during the 5-K9 Doggie Costume Walk that kicked off the Transition to Betterness Family Halloween Spooktacular at Malden Park on Saturday morning.

Mason's parents and Thumper, his puppy, led the human and canines who came dressed in their superhero and Halloween costumes.

Mason Macri was diagnosed with cancer at two years old. He died this past summer. Mason's parents have formed the Fight Like Mason Foundation honouring his legacy and to help other families and children battling the disease.

Comic fans of all ages put on their costumes and enjoyed receiving free comic books from Windsor's Paper Heroes Comic Book Lounge during the 5th Annual Halloween ComicFest.
