Worker injured at NextStar battery plant construction site

Ontario's Labour Ministry is investigating after a worker sustained a non-critical injury at the NextStar Energy battery plant construction site in Windsor.

Ontario's Labour Ministry is investigating after a worker sustained a non-critical injury at the NextStar Energy battery plant construction site in Windsor.

The incident occurred when a steel beam fell on the foot of an employee of FM Sylvan Canada Ltd., according to a ministry spokesperson.

It was notified of the incident on Nov. 26, the spokesperson said in a statement emailed to CBC News.

A ministry inspector went to the site, met with representatives from the employer and worker groups, and initiated an investigation.

The ministry has not issued any orders or requirements to date in relation to the incident, the statement said.

The investigation is ongoing.
