Syria’s vast network of prisons and detention centers is being uncovered after the fall of the Assad regime. CBC's visual investigations team mapped nearly 100 of these prisons using data from the UN’s International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism. The map reveals how they were embedded in communities near schools, mosques, residential buildings and more.
