Episode Transcript

Part One

Dominic Leblanc: Vaccines
Canada's intergovernmental affairs minister says his government is working well with the provinces — but premiers say they're put out about the vaccine roll-out, and shortfalls in health-care funding.

CERB hold music
Millions of Canadians have spent millions of minutes listening to a song they'd rather not hear — not because it's bad, but because it's the hold music for people calling about COVID benefits.

Quebec tourtière and poutine
You say "good pie", and I say "hello!" Or "bonjour", I guess — since a Quebec restaurant's new dish actually combines two provincial delicacies, tourtière and poutine, into a magical hybrid called "tourtine."

Part Two

Black Panther no recast
After the death of Chadwick Boseman, Marvel says it won't cast a new King T'Challa in the Black Panther sequels — but some fans say the character is too important to disappear.

Samurai sword grapes
Overachiever David Rush takes a stab at yet another Guinness World Record — by slicing dozens of grapes in mid-air with a Samurai sword, with the help of a partner who really understood the point.

Part Three

Argentina abortion legislation
Demonstrators with trademark green handkerchiefs celebrate in Buenos Aires, after Argentina's lower house of Congress pass a bill legalizing abortion.

Hybrid learning problems
A Hamilton superintendent is worried about lacklustre academic performance during the pandemic — concerned that focused attention isn't a remote possibility for students.
