Brothers Osborne on pot, politics and the stigma around country music

The Brothers Osborne joined Tom Power in the q studio to talk about their new album Port Saint Joe, and the value of easy-going music in tough times.

The Brothers Osborne are an award-winning country-rock duo who have never fit the mould of what people expect of them. On their latest record, the two brothers, T.J. and John, sing about smoking weed — something fairly uncommon in the country world. More than that though, the Brothers Osborne have come out to support a Democratic candidate for governor in the traditionally red state of Tennessee in this year's U.S. midterm elections.

To put this in perspective, according to Rolling Stone, no other mainstream country musician has publicly supported a Democratic candidate in this election campaign.
