Professional clowns were up in arms earlier this year about the TV show American Horror Story. One of the programme's main villains in the latest series was a killer clown called "Twisty", and clown associations say this is the latest in a long line of negative clown images portrayed in the media that are spreading coulrophobia -- the fear of clowns -- and damaging their industry.
