Piya Chattopadhyay guest hosts. All schedules are subject to last minute changes, so please check back for updates. Today we have three items from the Best of Q:
- Christopher Shinn is a New York-based playwright whose work has won him an Obie Award, and made him a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. He argues that disability is wrongly treated as a metaphor on stage and screen, and that characters with disabilities should be portrayed by people who actually are disabled. His belief is informed by his own recent experience with cancer, which has left him disabled. [FULL POST]
- Piya talks to mega-bestselling novelist and larger-than-life character, Jackie Collins. Sex, scandal, and Hollywood are at the heart of her unabashedly entertaining fiction, as well as vivid female protagonists. [FULL POST]
- Philadelphia band The War on Drugs have drawn huge attention for their new album, Lost in the Dream, which provides a smeared, hazy take on 80s anthemic rock titans like Dire Straits, Tom Petty, and Don Henley. [FULL POST]
