When you look into Canadian hip-hop history, you'll realize Toronto's Saukrates played an important role in the years between the success of Maestro Fresh Wes in the late 1980s and Drake in the last decade.

As a classically trained hip-hop artist, Saukrates performed and recorded with many of the genre's biggest stars, including Method Man, Common and Nas.

When Saukrates came by the q studios to talk about his recently re-released 1999 album The Underground Tapes, he took time to reminisce for our latest edition of the q block party focusing on the Scarborough area of Toronto.
