Hip hop photographer Ernie Paniccioli on his new book of never-before-seen photos
If you were a fan of hip hop and R&B in the '80s and '90s, you probably flipped through magazines like Word Up!, Vibe and The Source. If you did, then it's almost certain that you've seen the work of Ernest Paniccioli, better known as Brother Ernie.
Paniccioli was the chief photographer for Word Up! magazine and in his 40-year career he's taken photos of nearly every notable rapper, DJ or group that you can think of: Tupac, The Notorious B.I.G., Queen Latifah, Jay-Z, Public Enemy, Lil' Kim and the list goes on.
His new book of photography is called Hip Hop At The End Of The World and it's a collection of more than 250 photos that have never been released. He joined guest host Ali Hassan to share some stories behind a few of these never-before-seen photos of hip hop's greatest icons.
