This week, we're heading from the bright lights of Hollywood to a northern Saskatchewan reserve to cover everything from Tinseltown's depiction of indigenous people to housing issues on remote reserves.

From her episode of Back Story, the CBC's Connie Walker shares what happens when reporters take on stories they have a personal connection with. After covering the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, Connie reflected on the first-hand legacy of residential schools.

After hearing Connie's piece, Grade 7 and 8 students at Mayfair Community School in Saskatoon, Sask., got out their pens and paper and wrote about what reconciliation means to them.

Métis musician Don Amero explains how he and Brett Kissel hope to play an active part in reconciliation with a special spring tour. And he'll play a live tune and talk about helping students share their own musical voices.
