Former Raptors star guard Kyle Lowry is getting a street named after him in Toronto.

The city announced Monday that Lowry would be among seven people lending their name to a street at Don Mills Crossing, a new development in the city's northeast.

The announcement comes on the three-year anniversary of the Raptors winning the 2019 NBA title.

Lowry spent nine seasons with the Raptors before being dealt to the Miami Heat in a sign-and-trade on Aug. 6.

He was named an NBA all-star six times while with the Raptors and holds franchise records in three-pointers (1,518), assists (4,277) and steals (873).

Despite moving on from Toronto, Lowry remains a popular figure in the city.

Former Maple Leafs goalie Mike Palmateer and Canadian skier Steve Podborski will also have streets named after them in the new development.

Palmateer played eight seasons in the NHL, including six with the Leafs.

He had his best season in 1977-78 when he posted a 34-19-9 record and helped Toronto reach the semifinals of the NHL playoffs, where they were swept by Montreal.

Podborski, a Toronto native, won downhill bronze in both the Olympics and world championships in 1980.
