2008 Grey Cup tickets a hot item
More than 30,000 seats sold for Nov. 23 contest at Montreal's Olympic Stadium
Some of the best seats have already been reserved for this year's Canadian Football League championship in Montreal, two weeks before the general public can purchase tickets.
More than 30,000 of the 65,000-plus available seats at Olympic Stadium have been sold, the 2008 Grey Cup organizing committee announced Friday.
Tickets were sold during three special promotions: the Grey Cup last November in Toronto, during the Christmas holidays and the Super Bowl in February.
Alouettes' season ticket holders also had priority.
The public ticket sale is March 8 at noon ET.
The 96th Grey Cup game is Nov. 23, with a full week of festivities scheduled prior to the event.
A crowd of 65,255 spectators attended the 2001 Grey Cup in Montreal between Calgary and Winnipeg, won 27-19 by the Stampeders.
This will mark the ninth time that the Quebec city has hosted the game.
