The Saskatchewan Roughriders have parted ways with import wide receiver Greg Carr.

The six-foot-six, 214-pound wideout is in his fourth year in the league. He joined the Riders in a trade with the Eskimos last September.

He was quiet in Saskatchewan's 39-18 win over the Eskimos in Week 1, with one reception for a five-yard gain.

He had 377 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 34 receptions in 14 games with Edmonton and Saskatchewan last season.

Carr has contended with injuries over his career and his production has dropped off since his first two seasons in Winnipeg, where he totalled 1,216 yards and eight touchdowns.

Carr's release could be paving the way for Geroy Simon's Roughriders debut. Saskatchewan's big off-season acquisition missed the season opener with a leg injury.
